Winter Thoughts

Today in Kentucky it is cold and rainy, possible snow tonight. I looked at my garden spot today and it looks barren and sad. I covered it with leaves a couple of weeks ago. I am hoping the dead leaves will add some great nutrients to the ground for the spring planting.

On a side note, it is hard for me to believe that there are folks in this world that actually steal from others. Some scroundel stole my purse today. It had my check book, credit card, drivers license, and iphone in it. I am as sad as my garden looks.

Thanks to my Father and Mother!!

This blog is dedicated to my mother and father. They taught me the art of growing vegetables, flowers, fruit and home canning as a very young child.

I am 53 years old and have grown and canned vegetables ever since I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are riding a mule while my grandfather was cultivating his garden.

Today I see this an an art that is fastly fading from the younger generations. So this blog will be my attempt to show everyone or anyone who reads this blog the joy and satisifaction of growing and perserving your very own food.
